3.  Continued Diet Change

I recommend the following Books/Diets after Detoxing and removing foods to which you are allergic/sensitive.

"Fat for Fuel" by Dr. Mercola for accelerated weight loss

"Eat Fat Get Thin" by Dr. Hyman for lifestyle change.

4. Implement Fasting Monthly

Fasting is generally defined as the abstinence or limitation of food, drink or both. From a physiological and metabolic perspective, each type of fasting leads to different health effects depending on the type and duration of the fast. There are three main categories of fasting: time-restricted feeding, intermittent fasting, and short-term and prolonged or periodic fasting.

Time-Restricted Feeding

Time restricted Feeding is when food is ingested in a certain period of time during the day and the person refrains from eating for the other part of the day. A 12 hours per day of no-food intake period would fall into this category.

This diet is mostly positioned for weight loss and to not overwhelm the body with continuous food intake.

Intermittent Fasting

Intermittent fasting is the most common, intermittent fasting, is called the 5:2 diet which involves fasting on less than 500 calories for women or less than 600 calories for men for two non-consecutive days a week. For example, fasting on a Monday and Thursday each week.

This method is mainly used for weight loss induced metabolic effects due to the two days of calorie restriction per week.

Short-Term or Periodic Fasting

Short-term, or periodic fasting, defines periods of consecutive days of fasting. Short term is less than 3 days and Periodic is 3 or more days.

Periodic fasting has the only fasting regimen that “stresses” the body enough to stimulate a protectionist and rejuvenation mode that the body employs to survive and thrive.

Prolon - 5 day fasting meal-plan with food - order your monthly kit in our office

ProLon® is the first and only Periodic Fasting Mimicking Diet and is scientifically developed, and clinically proven, to induce the protectionist and rejuvenation mode which optimizes metabolic health and decrease age-related risk factors. The rejuvenating effect is the main reason why with ProLon® an individual loses fat very quickly while preserving lean body mass (muscle and bone).

The Fasting Mimicking Diet by ProLon is the first meal program made of healthy natural ingredients that someone consumes for five days – but is not recognized by the body as food.  This keeps the body in a fasting mode. In simple terms, it is fasting with food!

5 Day Fast

Fast on your own.  You don’t need a pre-packaged box to do a fast mimicking diet.  Just stick to the calorie percentages and considered how you’ll space them out each day. Make sure you plan out all the food for the entire fast!

Day 1 1100 calories - 34% carbs, 10% protein, and 56% fat

Day 2-5 800 calories - 47% carbs, 9% protein, and 44% fat for the remaining days.

Black coffee and tea (a cup per day) are typically allowed, although not necessary—and make sure they don’t contain any added creams or sugars (coconut oil is okay if you factor it into macros).
